ABOUT THE EXPEDITION
The United Kingdom Grand Expedition covers approximately 1,370 miles through England, Wales and Scotland, pairing iconic driving roads with five-star country hotels, Michelin-quality dining and private experiences. Each day balances 190–220 miles of memorable motoring with carefully chosen stops, from Blenheim Palace and Snowdonia to Glencoe, Royal Deeside and Edinburgh.

DAY 1
LONDON → BROADWAY

The Drive
The expedition begins with London fading in the mirrors as the route opens into Henley-on-Thames, Oxford and the soft, golden roads of the Cotswolds.
Signature Moment
A private State Rooms tour at Blenheim Palace sets the tone for the week, followed by lunch at Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, one of Britain’s most celebrated dining destinations.
Evening Arrival
The first day closes through Burford, Bibury and Bourton-on-the-Water before arriving in Broadway for a refined countryside evening at Dormy House.
DAY 2
BROADWAY → BALA
205 miles · approx. 5 hrs
The Drive
The roads sharpen as the Cotswolds give way to the Malvern Hills, Ludlow and the Welsh Borders, building towards the wild mountain scenery of Snowdonia.
Signature Moment
A riverside lunch at The Charlton Arms breaks the journey before the day turns into something more visceral: a private clay pigeon shooting experience in the Welsh countryside.
Evening Arrival
The final stretch runs through Betws-y-Coed and Llanberis Pass before the evening settles at Palé Hall, one of Wales’ most prestigious country house hotels.
DAY 3
BALA → WINDERMERE

The Drive
This is one of the most cinematic days of the tour: Snowdonia, Harlech, Barmouth and the North Wales Coast before the route cuts into the Lake District.
Signature Moment
Lunch at three Michelin Star L’Enclume brings a true culinary high point, followed by a private one-hour cruise across Lake Windermere.
Evening Arrival
The day finishes with serious driving theatre across Hardknott Pass, Wrynose Pass and Ambleside before reaching Gilpin Hotel & Lake House.
The Drive
The expedition turns north and changes character completely, moving from the Lake District into Loch Lomond, Rannoch Moor and the dramatic valley of Glencoe.
Signature Moment
Lunch at Cameron Grill gives the day a polished pause before the route pushes deeper into Scotland. After arrival, the evening opens with a private whisky tasting.
Evening Arrival
The destination is pure theatre: Isle of Eriska Hotel Spa & Island, a private island retreat on Scotland’s west coast.
DAY 5
ERISKA → BRAEMAR

The Drive
A proper Highland day. Loch Linnhe, Spean Bridge, Loch Laggan, the Cairngorms and Glenshee come together in one of the most memorable driving stages of the expedition.
Signature Moment
Lunch at House of Bruar brings a distinctly Scottish pause before arriving in Braemar for a private art tour inside The Fife Arms.
Evening Arrival
The day ends at The Fife Arms, where Highland character, art, atmosphere and luxury all collide.
The Drive
Royal Deeside, Cairn o’ Mount and the Angus Glens make this one of the most underrated driving days of the tour, before the route opens towards the coast.
Signature Moment
A Michelin Star lunch at The Newport sets up the afternoon, followed by a private guided tour of the Old Course, one of the most iconic sporting locations in the world.
Evening Arrival
The day finishes with the East Neuk coastal loop through Crail, Anstruther, Elie and Largo Bay before returning to St Andrews.
DAY 7
ST ANDREWS → EDINBURGH

The Drive
The final day is shorter, sharper and more ceremonial, running through East Neuk, Falkland, South Queensferry, the Pentland Hills and Arthur’s Seat.
Signature Moment
Lunch at The Bonnie Badger leads into a private guided tour of Hopetoun House, giving the final day a properly grand closing note.
Evening Arrival
The expedition ends in Edinburgh, arriving at The Balmoral after seven days of roads, hotels, dining and moments that actually feel earned.
