The United Kingdom Grand Expedition covers approximately 1,370 miles through England, Wales and Scotland, pairing iconic driving roads with five-star country hotels, Michelin-quality dining and private experiences. Each day balances 190–220 miles of memorable motoring with carefully chosen stops, from Blenheim Palace and Snowdonia to Glencoe, Royal Deeside and Edinburgh.

The Drive

The expedition begins with London fading in the mirrors as the route opens into Henley-on-Thames, Oxford and the soft, golden roads of the Cotswolds.

Signature Moment

A private State Rooms tour at Blenheim Palace sets the tone for the week, followed by lunch at Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, one of Britain’s most celebrated dining destinations.

Evening Arrival

The first day closes through Burford, Bibury and Bourton-on-the-Water before arriving in Broadway for a refined countryside evening at Dormy House.

BROADWAY → BALA

The Drive

The roads sharpen as the Cotswolds give way to the Malvern Hills, Ludlow and the Welsh Borders, building towards the wild mountain scenery of Snowdonia.

A riverside lunch at The Charlton Arms breaks the journey before the day turns into something more visceral: a private clay pigeon shooting experience in the Welsh countryside.

Evening Arrival

The final stretch runs through Betws-y-Coed and Llanberis Pass before the evening settles at Palé Hall, one of Wales’ most prestigious country house hotels.

The expedition turns north and changes character completely, moving from the Lake District into Loch Lomond, Rannoch Moor and the dramatic valley of Glencoe.

Royal Deeside, Cairn o’ Mount and the Angus Glens make this one of the most underrated driving days of the tour, before the route opens towards the coast.

Evening Arrival

The day finishes with the East Neuk coastal loop through Crail, Anstruther, Elie and Largo Bay before returning to St Andrews.
